I started journaling as a teenager, initially as a way to cope with the tumultuous emotions that come with growing up. My first journal was a simple composition book with a marble cover. At the time, it was merely a place to vent my frustrations and record my day-to-day experiences. Little did I know, this simple habit would evolve into a powerful tool for self-discovery.The Turning Point
The real turning point came during my college years. I was going through a particularly challenging time, feeling lost and unsure about my future. That’s when I discovered the work of Julia Cameron and her book, "The Artist's Way." Her concept of "morning pages" — writing three pages of stream-of-consciousness every morning — resonated with me deeply. I decided to give it a try.Embracing the Habit
In the beginning, writing three pages every morning felt like a daunting task. However, as I persisted, I began to notice subtle shifts in my mindset. The act of writing first thing in the morning helped me clear my mind of clutter and allowed me to start the day with a sense of clarity and purpose.
